The City Church property on 56th Ave W and 58th Ave W north of 220th St SW has been sold to a home builder according to Snohomish County records. The property had been for sale for over a year listed at $3.5 million. In addition to the main parcel, City Church also owned 5 other adjacent parcels, all of which were sold to Sonata Home LP for about $5 million according to a listing on ChurchAdvisors.net.
Last fall the property was reportedly going to be sold to Mars Hill Church but apparently that deal fell through.
Little information can be found online about "Sonata Homes LP" but they share the same address as Sundquist Homes so it is possible they are related. It is not uncommon for developers or home builders to form a separate company for each development. Sundquist Homes currently has or is planning developments in Bothell, Shoreline, Lynnwood, Lake Forest Park, and Edmonds and have home prices generally starting in the low $500's.
According to a Site Development Plans and Conditional Use Permit submitted to the City, the existing buildings will be converted into a private school which includes an update of the existing structures and a new playfield will be constructed south of the school (Nobel School). 31 single family homes will be constructed with a ¾ acre park and pedestrian trails.
For the sake of better connectivity, it would be nice to see at least one through road be constructed between 56th and 58th. Since the existing buildings are to remain this may be unlikely.
