Progress Continues on Mallory Building Renovation
The building at 24113 56th Ave W has seen quite the renovation over the past couple of months. I'm not sure of where the name came from but the building is referred to as the Mallory Building by City officials and is being renovated by Landsverk Quality Homes (LQH) for use as office space.
The property was sold to LQH, Inc. last year for $750,000 and is undergoing extensive renovations to convert the 6,000+ square foot warehouse into office space. In addition to renovating of the building itself, head-in angle parking will be added on the street and wide sidewalks will be provided to comply with Town Center design standards.
A site plan submittal last year said that the office space would be used by three companies: LQH, Inc, Lake Cushman Co., and Sound Structural Solutions. LQH is the developer behind projects in Mountlake Terrace such as the 234th St Townhomes and Brook Glenn Townhomes. They also have several additional townhomes projects in the works in the Town Center.
Projects like these that add office space and day-time jobs to the Town Center will be important to the success of local businesses, especially restaurants who could benefit from a larger lunch crowd during the week.
