Atlas 236 Project Moving Forward, Construction Expected to Begin this Summer

The Atlas 236 project at the NE corner of 56th and 236th reached a milestone this week as the developer has submitted their Site Development Plan Review permit application. 

The plans show a 5 story mixed-use building similar in size to the developer's previous project across the street, Arbor Village. BCRA is the architect on the project and while the project is similar in size to Arbor Village the architectural style is quite different. 

The building will have almost 10,000 square feet of ground commercial space and 151 residential units.  A large restaurant space is shown on the corner and a cafe space along 236th St SW. 191 parking spaces will be provided on site as well as 6 parallel parking spaces and a loading space along the 56th and 55th Ave W. Access to the parking garage will be off 55th Ave W. 

According to the developer plans to begin construction this summer. The existing buildings, including the former Calvary Tabernacle Church, have all now been demolished. The property was sold to AFCO & Sons in January 2016.
