Brighton School to Relocate to Mountlake Terrace

SP_BrightonBrighton School,  private pre-K through 8th grade school located in Lynwood, is planning on relocating to Mountlake Terrace. The school, currently located on 212th just east of Highway 99, has plans to take over the former City Church building located north of 220th and between 56th and 58th Ave W in MLT. This is an updated from yesterday's post concerning the sale of the City Church property.

The development proposal submitted to the City of MLT in March states that the school plans to renovate the existing 26,000 square foot building to accommodate 25 classrooms, specialty rooms and offices, plus a gymnasium and library. A new playfield will be constructed to the south of the existing building on what are now two additional parcels. The school also hopes to be able to expand by constructing an additional 10,000 square foot building and associated parking on the parcel across 58th from the existing building.

According to their web site, Brighton School is part of Nobel Learning Communities, Inc., a network of more than 180 private schools, with a commitment to outstanding preschools, elementary and middle schools.

The former City Church property would be divided between Brighton School and a planned unit development (PUD) consisting of 30+ homes developed by Sundquist Homes.
