City Receives Funding Towards Main Street Project Phase 2

The newly passed state capital and transportation budgets include appropriations totaling $860,000 for Phase 2 of the Main Street Project. The City will use these funds to complete the design of Phase 2 and start the right-of-way acquisition process.

The Main Street Project Phase 1 will build new wide sidewalks, street lighting, undergrounding utilities, bike lanes, signal improvements, and street trees on 236th Street SW from I-5 to 56th Ave W. Phase 2 of the project would continue the improvements north on 56th Ave W to 230th St SW. Construction on Phase 1 is expected to begin this year. PSE is currently relocating gas mains in 236th in anticipation of Phase 1 construction.
