Terrace Station (formerly Gateway TOD) project sold, construction likely to begin this Spring
After a number of delays, the project on the former Evergreen Elementary site in Mountlake Terrace appears to be moving forward. Earlier this year, the project and land were sold to Sierra Construction Company, a general contractor who will be building the project. According to City officials the name of the project has changed to Terrace Station.
This first phase of the project will construct the new Gateway Boulevard, connecting Gateway Place to the south, near Studio 6 and Cinebarre, with 236th St SW near the Transit Center. One of the three buildings will be constructed with this phase. The building is a six-story mixed-use building of approximately 470,000 square feet. The ground floor will be commercial space and there will be two levels of underground parking. The upper levels will contain 258 apartment homes comprised of a mix of studio, open one-bedroom, one-bedroom, two-bedrooms and three-bedroom types.
Sierra Construction recently advertised a request for proposals for sub-contractors to do the earthwork and utilities on the project. The original request had a construction start date of April 4, 2018, though an addendum indicates that this may be delayed by about five weeks.
The project has been in the works since 2014 when the Edmonds School District sold the property to the initial developer.
